Stake.com review (2026): KYC, withdrawal and countries

We’ve had a funded Stake account for a few weeks now. Deposited, played, withdrew, argued with support once, and read considerably more of the terms and conditions than any reasonable person should. Two things stood out immediately: the size of the game library, which runs past 5,000 titles, and how quickly money actually leaves the platform. Our first card withdrawal landed in under a minute. There’s a fair amount Stake doesn’t tell you up front, and a couple of things most reviews skip entirely.

We didn’t click around the lobby for twenty minutes and call it a review. We registered a real account, went through KYC, and funded it with a Visa debit card. We played slots (Gates of Olympus 1000, Sweet Bonanza, a stretch of Hacksaw titles), plus Lightning Roulette on the live tables and a fair amount of Plinko and Mines on the Originals side. We placed football and tennis bets through the sportsbook. We deposited and withdrew multiple times across different methods to see whether the speed held up or whether the first one was a fluke. Then, because one account isn’t a sample, we read through Stake’s Trustpilot profile, 17,527 reviews at time of writing, and a good chunk of the relevant Reddit threads, specifically looking for complaint patterns rather than individual bad days.

New accounts get 200% on the first deposit, up to $2,000. Deposit $100 and you play with $300; deposit $1,000 and you get the maximum $2,000 on top. $1,000 is the largest deposit it matches, so anything above that earns no extra bonus. The minimum is $10 and the referral has to be attached when you register.

Wagering is 40x the bonus amount, so a $100 deposit earning a $200 bonus needs $8,000 of qualifying wagering. Bets priced under 1.20 don’t count toward it. Stake sets the requirement at a 4% house edge and credits your play in proportion to the edge of what you played: eligible slots accrue $1 of progress per $1 wagered, the sportsbook $0.75, and a 1% edge game $0.25. Higher edge clears it faster.

The term that catches most people is not the multiple, it is the exclusion list. While a wagering requirement is active your bonus currency is locked, and every one of Stake’s 24 Originals is barred, along with Stake Poker and the whole Stake Engine catalogue. Dice, Plinko, Mines, Limbo, Crash and Keno are all unavailable for as long as the rollover runs. The list goes well beyond the house games: nine studios are excluded in full, including Playson, Wazdan, EGT, Amusnet and Turbo Games, plus several hundred named slots across Pragmatic Play, Play’n GO, NetEnt, Red Tiger and Hacksaw. The operator

Stake.com is run by Medium Rare N.V. under Curaçao Gaming Authority licence 145353. It launched in 2017, founded by Australians Ed Craven and Bijan Tehrani. The parent group, Easygo, also owns Kick, the streaming platform. It’s a large, well-capitalised company with sponsorship deals attached to major sports properties, and the reputational exposure alone is a meaningful incentive to pay people.

Security

Two-factor authentication and passkeys are both supported and you should turn one on immediately. There’s also the Stake Vault, which holds funds in a separate locked balance rather than your main wallet, useful both as a security measure and, quietly, as a self-control tool.

Fairness

Everything Stake built in-house uses provably fair technology, meaning you can independently verify that a result wasn’t manipulated after the fact. Third-party games are tested by independent auditors. Stake is also a member of the Crypto Gambling Foundation.

The 2023 breach

In September 2023 attackers drained roughly $41 million from Stake’s hot wallets. Stake covered every affected player in full and had deposits and withdrawals running again within about five hours. No player lost a cent. Any platform can be targeted, and absorbing a $41m loss overnight is close to the best response available.

The licence

Curaçao licensing works differently to a UK Gambling Commission or Malta licence. Under UKGC or MGA rules, a player in a dispute can go to an independent adjudicator whose ruling binds the operator, with statutory fund segregation behind it. Curaçao’s regime was rebuilt in 2024 and is considerably stronger than the old master-licence system: the CGA now licenses operators directly and requires a documented complaints process. But escalation is slower, and there’s no compensation scheme sitting behind your balance.

Stake has a solid record of paying out, and the large public complaint platforms resolve most cases that do escalate. Its size and public profile give it every reason to keep that record clean. On any Curaçao-licensed site, withdraw your wins and don’t park a large balance on the platform. Stake pays out quickly enough that this is easy.

Registration takes a couple of minutes. You can link a Google, Facebook or Kick account or just use email, pick a username, and confirm you’re 18 or over. The referral code field sits on the same screen.

Stake verifies identity before you deposit, not before you withdraw, which is the reverse of most casinos. You enter your address and date of birth, then upload photo ID. Ours cleared in about 20 seconds with a clean driving licence. Blurred, expired or name-mismatched documents drop into manual review and take hours.

VPN policy

Stake.com does not allow the use of VPN to access their services. Taken directly from their official Terms and Conditions page as of 8 August 2026: “The attempt to manipulate your real location through the use of VPN, proxy, or similar services or through the provision of incorrect or misleading information about your place of residence, with the intent to circumvent geo-blocking or jurisdiction restrictions, constitutes a breach of Clause 5 of this Terms of Service.”

This is where Stake is genuinely, uncomplicatedly good. Over 5,000 titles from 100+ studios. Catalogue sizes get quoted without much behind them, but this one is among the biggest in the market, and unusually it doesn’t feel padded with filler to hit a headline figure.

Slots

The largest section by some distance, with Hacksaw Gaming and Pragmatic Play dominating. The big universal titles are all here: Sweet Bonanza 1000, Wanted Dead or a Wild, the Gates series.

One feature we ended up using constantly: Stake shows how many people are playing each game in real time. With a library this size, that’s the difference between browsing and drowning. New releases arrive continuously and there’s no realistic way to evaluate them all, so live player counts become a rough proxy for what’s worth ten minutes.

There’s also a section of enhanced-RTP exclusives, over 20 games running at 98%, including Sweet Fiesta and Gates of Heaven. That’s genuinely generous, given standard slot RTP across the industry sits between 94% and 96.5%.

Studios often ship the same title at several RTP settings, and operators choose which to run. Two identical-looking versions of a slot can return quite differently over time. Stake shows the figure in each game’s info panel, which not every casino does, so check it before you spin.

Stake Originals

Over 320 titles exclusive to the platform, including 30+ built entirely in-house: Plinko, Mines, Dice, Limbo, Rock Paper Scissors, Scarab Spin, Video Poker. Plinko was where we spent most of our time, largely because of the 10,000x ceiling on the highest risk setting. Mines is the more interesting game, though. It’s one of the few casino products where your decisions actually change the maths rather than just the pacing.

All of the Originals are provably fair. You can verify any result yourself using the seed pair. Most people never will, but the fact that you can is a structural difference from a normal RNG slot, where you’re simply trusting the certificate.

Live dealer

170+ tables. Evolution supplies 100+, Pragmatic Play another 60+. Lightning Roulette is the standout, with multipliers running to 500x, and Power Blackjack adds enough of a strategic wrinkle to stay interesting. The game show format is well represented too, with Crazy Time and Ice Fishing pulling the biggest crowds.

There’s also a set of genuinely strange offerings from newer studios, including live betting on rubber duck races. We have no idea who this is for and we watched three of them. RNG table games are there too, if you’d rather play blackjack, roulette, baccarat or casino poker without a person talking at you.

Arcade and crash

Well covered. Spribe’s Aviator is the obvious crash entry, Chicken Road 2 is the better risk/reward design, and there’s a solid spread of Keno, Dice, Mines and Plinko variants. One regional note: parts of the library are geo-restricted independently of the site itself. NetEnt titles, for instance, aren’t available in Canada or Mexico, so your lobby may not match what a review describes.

Stake is known for the casino, largely through its streaming partnerships. The sportsbook is better than that reputation suggests.

Sports

30+ sports, from football, tennis, basketball and baseball down to ski jumping and water polo. Over 1,000 events live at any given moment. There’s a separate racing section covering horses and greyhounds from Ireland, Turkey, South Africa and elsewhere. Football gets the deepest treatment, with 100+ markets on major fixtures, live stats, and bet builders under the name “Same Game Multis.”

Stake Shield is the feature worth understanding. It’s insurance on multis: you accept slightly shortened odds, and in return a bet that misses one leg still pays. Whether it’s good value depends entirely on how many legs you’re running and how confident you are, but it’s a more honest product than most bet-insurance mechanics, which tend to pay out in site credit rather than cash.

On pricing, we priced up three international football matches and got a 5.4% margin. That sits inside the normal 3–6% range: competitive without being generous. Margins vary a lot by sport and by how obscure the market is, so expect worse on niche competitions.

In-play is where the interface earns its keep. Never fewer than 20 live events during our testing, odds updating instantly, and a Test cricket match carried over a dozen live markets. Some events have live streams attached; we watched tennis and basketball without issue.

Esports

15 titles, including CS, Dota 2, League of Legends and FIFA. What’s unusual is that Stake extends odds boosts to esports. Most sportsbooks treat esports as a checkbox and reserve promotions for traditional sport. Most matches are streamable directly, which makes live betting far more viable than it is on books where you’re betting blind off a scoreboard. Futures markets are well populated too: ESL Pro League, Esports World Cup, that tier of event.

Poker

Peer-to-peer, and busier than we expected. Over 350 players active every time we looked. Cash games, tournaments and sit & gos, across Hold’em, Omaha and Rummy. The Next! lobby moves you to a new table every hand, which suits fast play, and there’s an All-In or Fold format for people who have given up on subtlety. Tournaments run more or less hourly with buy-ins typically between $1 and $100; the largest we saw during testing was a $50,000 guaranteed. It’s not going to replace a dedicated poker room if you play seriously. For casual games it’s more than adequate, and the traffic is real.

Both fiat and crypto, which is less common than it sounds, since plenty of “crypto casinos” are crypto-only.

Deposits

Crypto deposits process instantly. Copy the wallet address, scan the QR code, or connect a wallet directly. Minimum is 0.01 USDT, which is about as low as this gets, and there’s no maximum.

Fiat is narrower: $5 to $1,000 per transaction, no fees. Available methods vary by region; in Ireland we had card and Skrill only. You’ll need to verify a phone number before setting your account currency. Stake supports 40+ fiat currencies.

Withdrawals

This is Stake’s strongest feature and it isn’t close.

On the card figure: Stake’s official guidance is up to three business days, and that’s the commitment to plan around. Ours landed in under a minute, on one debit card through one issuing bank. Card payout speed depends as much on how your bank handles inbound push payments as on anything Stake does. Some banks post them instantly, others sit on them until the next working day. The crypto side does clear in minutes every time.

There’s an extra confirmation step on every withdrawal: 2FA code, email code, or OAuth. Mildly annoying, and exactly what you want protecting your balance.

Crypto withdrawals aren’t capped, which is genuinely unusual, since most casinos limit per-transaction or per-week payouts. Minimums and fees vary by token, and they move with network conditions:

Your choice of token makes a real difference to what you keep. Solana, XRP and Litecoin are markedly cheaper to move than Ethereum or Bitcoin. If you withdraw often, picking a low-fee network is the simplest way to keep more of your winnings.

Two things worth setting up right

Pick your currency deliberately

A crypto balance moves with the token it’s held in, so a BTC-denominated bankroll rises and falls with Bitcoin whether or not you’re playing. Some players like that. If you’d rather your balance simply stay put, a stablecoin such as USDT or USDC tracks the dollar and takes the question off the table entirely.

Match your account currency to your bank’s

Where the two differ you’ll pay a small conversion spread each way. It’s minor per transaction, but matching them at sign-up costs nothing and saves it permanently.

Stake puts more effort into existing players than most operators, which is unusual. The industry norm is a large welcome offer followed by silence.

Rakeback

Stake returns a slice of the house edge on every bet you place, win or lose. Ours ran at 3.5%, and it arrives as cash with no wagering attached, so you can withdraw it immediately. It’s 3.5% of the house edge, not of your stake: on a $100 bet at 96% RTP the edge is $4, so the rakeback is roughly 14 cents. Small per spin, but it applies to everything you play and never expires, which over a year of regular play outgrows the 200% headline. It unlocks at Bronze, which takes $10,000 in lifetime wagering. That won’t suit an occasional player, but for a regular it’s the part of the rewards structure that actually matters.

Live chat is 24/7 and staffed by people, not a bot. That’s increasingly rare and it matters. We opened one chat ticket and one email ticket during testing. The chat reply came back in about 20 minutes, and the agent read the question properly, understood it, and resolved it in a single reply, with no round of clarifying questions and no scripted deflection. We’d take that over an instant response that doesn’t actually help. The email came back in roughly seven hours. Stake doesn’t publish a target response time.

The help centre runs to nearly 140 articles and is better than it needs to be, with real explanations rather than SEO padding. Support is offered in five languages including English, Spanish and Russian. The public feedback we read suggests routine questions get handled well on live chat, but anything involving a held payout moves faster over email, where you can lay the details out in one go.

Stake doesn’t publish an app on Google Play or the App Store. Instead it offers a progressive web app. There’s a short setup guide on the site, and it puts an icon on your home screen that opens Stake full-screen, complete with push notifications for promotions and new releases. For day-to-day play it does the job well.

The mobile site itself is genuinely well built and we had no performance complaints at all. A PWA isn’t quite a native app, though: you miss biometric login and the notification reliability you’d get from the real thing, and it’s a little less polished on iOS than on Android. It’s the one area where Stake trails the competition, and the reason for the lower score in this category. A few apps on the stores use Stake’s branding without being connected to it. The PWA installed from Stake’s own site is the official route.

Stake runs on its own software rather than a licensed white-label platform, and the difference shows immediately. Most casinos are the same product wearing different colours. This one isn’t.

Casino and sportsbook are cleanly separated, so you’re not wading through betting markets to find a slot. The lobby is well categorised, live player counts help you navigate a library that would otherwise be overwhelming, and the studio list shows how many titles each provider has contributed, a small touch that’s genuinely useful when you’re trying to find more of something you liked. Stake holds 3.9/5 on Trustpilot from 17,527 reviews (checked 11 August 2026). For an online casino, that’s a good score. The category average is dismal, largely because people who lose money leave reviews and people who win generally don’t.

Recurring criticisms

Some players would like promotions to land even more often, which given the list above says more about how much Stake has trained its players to expect than about any shortfall. The more useful signal is that live chat slows down when a withdrawal needs manual review, consistent with what we found, and the reason we’d suggest email for anything payment-related. Reddit reads much the same: fast payouts, a strong game selection, and the occasional wait when something needs a human to look at it.

Set your limits early

Tightening a deposit limit takes effect straight away, while loosening one carries a waiting period. That’s deliberate, and it works best for you if the limits are already in place before you need them.
